I like this hope thing - can I include what I want for Xmas?
How about some questions on our hopes for Obama...like will he make a good world leader? Will he stop more wars than he starts? etc
All the best,
Dominic
Terrific site - hope it catches on. I can't tell if the economy here is as dismal as it feels because the rust belt where I live is also in the snow belt and it's just plain dismal, or if we are already past the point of no return, which is how it seems. Just back from Salt Lake City visiting my son, a State which has a better economy than most, with images of many homeless people on the streets. That doesn't help my impression. Hope Mallorca Majorca and Ibiza continue to be soul inspiring... I remember them well from the early '70's-- when I was the only one at the beach who could solemn ski! Cheers, Ellen
These Fascinating comments on the blogpost that I cited below on the "winds of change fan obama high expectations."

“We elected a president, not a Messiah”
He’s got so much of our hopes riding on his shoulders. A) Someone’s bound to get disappointed. B) That can take it’s toll. :/

We know the hype cycle is applicable to technologies and business management innovations beyond IT. The case for extending its use to politics is unclear. However you are not alone in thinking it might be a way to view progress over time. We have seen recent attempts such as a Gordon Brown hype cycle (http://will-lion.blogspot.com/2008/03/technology-rollercoaster.html) and a Sarah Palin hype cycle ( http://www.rumproast.com/index.php/site/comments/the_sarah_palin_hype_cycle/ )
